Transitioning for Positioning

Life is filled with swift transitions. I heard this growing up in church. And when I was younger, I didn't quite understand what it meant. But as I get older, it makes sense. 2016 saw a lot of swift transitions. When you watch those end of the year wrap ups, it summarizes a year and you're life wow...we had some serious transitions. I personally experienced some major transitions in my life, and I believe that transitions are set-ups for new positions.

Have you ever been transitioned into a new position on your job or in an organization? Usually you asked for it or someone recommended you for it. Either way, you moved to a new position. In life, we are always transitioning throughout our journey. Some of our transitions go something like this: we go from kindergarten to  high school and from high school to college or jobs/careers to marriage to parenthood to empty nesters, and on and on. But each transition gets us into the next position so that we can continue down the path.

What I want you to ponder is this: Are you intentionally transitioning for better positioning? Are your transition choices helping to position you for what's next?

Change is inevitable. Transitions are the direct result of change. Is it time for you to make some changes? Be encouraged to consider the position you're called to be in next...what changes do you have to make to transition to that position? Leave me a comment below.

Whose Schedule Are YOU Waiting On?

Have you ever been on someone else's schedule? You know what I am talking about right? The kind of schedule that you put in place because that's what people "normally" do. Like graduate from college in 4 years. Get married after 3 years of dating. Give a two-week notice. I mean why can't you graduate in 3 or 5 years? What do you have to date for a long time because you know if you only date for 3 months, that's a BIG no-no, right? And what is the two-week notice about? Most people can't "wrap up their work" in that two-week period because they're too busy saying good-bye for two-weeks. So what's the deal with all these "normal timeframes?" And more importantly, how often do these superficial timeframes cause you to wait for no reason?

In 2017, I want you to move when God says move and bust through the status quo. Sometimes we tell God to wait with our inaction. Why? Because we are so accustomed to these "timeframes." He is saying move to a new place. Start that business. Marry that girl/guy. Write that first blog post. Sell that first product today. But what do we say: Today? I'm not ready? You sure? Or my favorite and one that has no doubt made me wait..."But what will everyone think if I___________"

Stop waiting on perfect circumstances. Stop using other people's schedules for your life. The wait it over. Move. But not just in place...Move Forward.

Goodbye 2016...Hello 2017

I absolutely love fresh starts. So much so that this first blog post on my brand new site is my 3rd attempt because I didn't hit SAVE! But guess what? I am a glass half-full type of chic, so I figured my other drafts must not have been great enough for you (wink wink).

I am writing this post on New Year's Eve in a last ditch effort to get my new site launched before the end of the year. Am I the only one like that? You know, trying to get everything that you said you wanted to accomplish in 2016 done on the very last day? Nothing makes you move like pressure, right?

For me, it was important to accomplish this goal, even if it is on the last day of the year...just so that I can start fresh on January 1st.

So without further delay, welcome to my first post on my new site...I AM FON!

This new site is where I will share, teach, inspire, coach, train, and most importantly, encourage you to reach your fullest potential by going after the desires of your heart. Whether you hear me on the podcast, read my words, or wear a Fon Shirt... my goal is to encourage you and keep you moving forward.

I've been coaching for six years and each time that I am of service to others in this way, my life has continued to be blessed, so I know THIS WORK is something that I am supposed to be doing. What about you? Do you know what you're supposed to be doing in YOUR life? Does your life represent the desires of your heart fully? If not, I encourage you to start the year off fresh...with me and be THE WHO you desire to be.

I'd love for us to stay connected so we can be consistent, intentional, and live the lives we dream about. If you're excited about living more purposefully in 2017, leave me a comment below and
